"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."

Tuesday, Sept 18- Wednesday, Sept 19: Finishing fabrication and the start of patient fittings

On Tuesday, we fabricated the AFO for Harrington and cleaned the clinic in preparation for patient fittings to start on Wednesday. We had 4 people come by for eyeglasses as well.

Suzanne and I doing a teamwork approach to get Harrington's AFO fabricated.

Protashow and Suzanne laminating the AFO for Harrington.

Louise got bags for each patient with their prosthetic supplies.

Fun photo op with all the finished devices.

A team photo showing off our hard work.

Later in the afternoon, we had time to take a walk to the river. Some of the girls from New Day were our guides.

Walking past some houses on the way to the river.

Suzanne, Gaye and Louise watching the girls have fun in the river.

The girls just waded in to have some fun.

I enjoy taking time to walk to the river. It's so peaceful to see the scenery and have a break from our work at the clinic.

On Wednesday, another class from New Day came up to the clinic for a field trip to learn about what we do. Here's Protashow explaining the parts of a prosthesis.

Christopher came back for replacement of his sail cloth portion on his prosthesis. We also did some adjustments to the settings of his knee to improve his walking.

Orclay came back for fitting of his prosthesis. Here he's getting a pair of shoes so that he has matching shoes on both feet and has a shoe to help protect the prosthetic foot.

He was doing really well walking with the new prosthesis! He quickly moved to just one crutch.

Orclay will be walking without crutches very soon. It was great to be able to fit him with a prosthesis and see how excited he was!

Also on Wednesday, Louise helped 3 more people with eyeglasses. We had some time to rest in the afternoon before Prayer and Praise with the staff and kids Wednesday night. The rest was nice to get ready for a big day of patient fittings on Thursday with patients from the Macha area coming back.

*Next post: Thursday, Sept 20: Macha area patient fittings and a new patient
